Figure skater Tonya Harding dominated the ice with unrivaled athleticism. She dominated the headlines for something else entirely. This film tells her story from her childhood in Portland, Oregon, where her waitress mother LaVona pushes her daughter into ice skating to her teen marriage to the abusive Jeff Gilooly who was behind the scandalous attack on Tonya’s skating rival Nancy Kerrigan in the run up to the 1994 Winter Olympics.
