Although Aaron has been dating Lea for some time, his relationship with her eight year-old son Tristan remains cautious and tentative. Their holiday in the Italian Dolomites has been planned as the starting point of a new life together, and Aaron works hard to win over the boy, who remains skeptical and loyal to his father. Aaron plans a hiking trip in an attempt to bond further with Tristan, but their relationship is put under renewed strain when fog sets in and they get separated from each other.
